Aurus uses minimal cookies to keep the platform running and understand how it's used. No ad tracking, no cross-site profiling. Here's exactly what we set and why.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. They allow the site to remember information about your session — such as whether you're logged in or what preferences you've set.
Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a set duration). Some cookies are set directly by Aurus; others may be set by third-party services we use.
2. Cookies We Use
Essential cookies
These are required for the Aurus platform to function. Without them, you cannot log in, access your workspace, or use core features. These cookies cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
Session authentication tokens (keep you logged in to your Aurus account)
CSRF protection tokens (prevent cross-site request forgery attacks)
Load balancing cookies (ensure requests reach the correct server)
Preference cookies
These remember your settings across sessions so you don't have to reconfigure them every visit.
UI theme preference (light/dark mode)
Dashboard layout and filter preferences

Analytics cookies
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the Aurus dashboard and marketing site are used — which pages are visited, where users encounter friction, and how features are adopted. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
We do not use Google Analytics. Our analytics provider processes data under a data processing agreement and does not use your data for its own purposes.

Cookies that follow you across websites outside of aurus.io
3. Third-Party Cookies
A small number of third-party services embedded in the Aurus platform may set their own cookies. These are limited to:
Payment processing: Our billing provider sets cookies during checkout to prevent fraud and maintain session state. These are governed by their own privacy policy.
Customer support: If you use our live chat or support widget, the provider may set session cookies to maintain conversation state.
We do not permit third parties to use cookies on Aurus for advertising or cross-site tracking purposes.

Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from accessing your Aurus account and using the platform.

6. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Aurus respects this signal on our marketing site by not loading non-essential analytics. Within the platform itself, essential cookies remain active regardless of this setting, as they are required for the Service to function.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we add new features, change service providers, or if legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated with at least 14 days' notice.
